A Thousand Suns Reviewed

Sup?
So for those of you who don't know, Linkin Park recently released a new album called A Thousand Suns. It's been out since September. I am a big fan of LP so naturally I got the whole album. And I thought I'd share my views.
Their first single of the album was The Catalyst. Brilliant track. You'll notice it's not quite the LP you're used to. That's exactly what I thought when I heard the album. Their overall sound on this album is VERY different. LP as a band have evolved with every album since Hybrid Theory. But never has their "evolution" been more pronounced than with this album.
With this album, they've experimented on soooo many levels. And the result is excellent in my opinion.
First off, if you are going to get the album, listen to it in order the first time. The album is made such that they songs flow together with interludes and snippets between tracks, which set the overall mood very nicely. Do not interrupt the flow. Go with it. I'm serious..
Also, this album deals with very real world issues unlike their other albums.
From the first track, which sets off on a chilling note, you're taken on a journey. The Requiem starts off chilling, has some haunting female vocals with lyrics that are repeated on the track The Catalyst.
The Requiem is made to blend with The Radiance flawlessly. This interlude of sorts lasting 58 seconds has a clip of a speech by Robert Oppenheimer, who is sometimes known as "the father of the atomic bomb", where he quotes from the Bhagwad Gita.
The Radiance flows into Burning In The Skies. This is one of my fave tracks on the album. Smooth, soft vocals by Chester.
The next track after an 18 second interlude is When They Come For Me. This track features Mike Shinoda's rapping style with him spitting out verse after verse to a sick drum beat. It then slows pace and Chester jumps in. Very nicely done.
The next track up is Robot Boy. This is a slower track with some great vocals by Chester again.
This is followed by a crazy interlude with Japanese lyrics.
Waiting For The End is the next track which has both Chester and Mike. Great song.
Blackout is the next track. This track is for those people who think Chester is subdued on this album. Vocals are good as usual. Great track. Variations are very cool. It starts off sounding Indian and that sound is there throughout.
The next track is Wretches and Kings. It deals with oppression. This starts off with a quote by Mario Savio and goes into Mike spitting with Chester on the chorus.
What follows is a VERY deep quote by Martin Luther King Jr. -
"I come to this magnificent house of worship tonight because my conscience leaves me no other choice... A true revolution of values will lay hand on the world order and say of war, 'This way of settling differences is not just.' This business of burning human beings with napalm, of filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows, of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into the veins of peoples normally humane, of sending men home from dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged, cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice, and love..."
This would prolly give you an idea of how deep this album gets.
Iridescent follows this. A great track with a feel-good air about it. Lightens the mood a little. This is followed by an interlude which has lyrics from Burning In The Skies.
The Catalyst follows through after this almost seamlessly again. Ill say it again, brilliant track! Great combination of Mike and Chester.
The final track is The Messenger with kinda sums up the whole album with the message "When life leaves us blind, love keeps us kind."
Overall, you'll notice there's a lot more of the keyboard by Mike and electro by Hahn. Chester is brilliant on vocals as usual.
I definitely think that this is one of their better albums in spite of its very different sound.
Leme know what you think.
Peace

Trance Out

Hello, beautiful people! It's been quite a while since I updated my music here. SO much has happened in the past month! I ended up going to Goa with my favourite-est people in the entire world to bring in my 21st birthday. It was one of the most surreal experiences I've had because I was visiting Goa after 11 years! Anywho, that trip influenced me in numerous ways imaginable! Musically, mostly. I never thought I'd be able to veer from my dose of r&b and delve into a genre I've just about come to discover - Trance! Of Epicness.

So the fashion-victim-ninja-music-lover-adorable-baby-drama-queen that is Miz just turned 21! And boy, was it an epic 21 on so many levels! There was epic food, epic partying, epic people, epic beaches and just general epicness that is Goa. And yes I did just coin the term 'epicness'.

... To all the epicness and awesomeness that is Psymiz.

On to the music then!

1. Turn Around (5,4,3,2,1) - Flo-Rida

"Go ahead" and get it.

Last month, I went for a show with Sultan highlighting. This guy is MAD! I'd heard a lot about him and how his set was one of the best at Sunburn'09. And I believe it. Insane beats. A lot of the electro stuff I've got on repeat now is his.

28. Nobody Can Change Me - Tish
Anthem of my life.

29. Shawty Got Moves - Get Cool
Love it!

30. Take Your Shirt Off - T-Pain
He did during the movie and it was GOOD.

Dawn to Dusk

Sup?

Got quite a bit for you, some you might already know, some you might not.

So Pendulum are back. And they've done a lot of experimenting with this album "Immersion". Be sure to check it out though.

The Island Part I (Dawn) and Part II (Dusk) are definitely two of my fave tracks on the album.

Another band worth checking out are The Glitch Mob for their experimental sounds. Miz featured a couple of tracks by them of their album "Drink The Sea". They do some great remixes and even remixed Lil Wayne's Lollipop ft Kanye!

Step Up 3 is releasing this Friday in India. Check out the OST.

Drake's album "Thank Me Later" dropped last month. Check it.

To the music. Check these out.

Lay It Down - Lloyd
Lloyd's known for his crooning. Nice track.

Own Step - YV ft T-Pain, Fabo & Polow Da Don

So I'm sure we've featured this before. But I love it. There's two versions. The other's by Roscoe Dash. It features on the Step Up 3 OST. Check 'em out. Pick your fave.

Like A G6 - Far East Movement ft The Cataracs & Dev

Club song.

Double Vision - 3Oh!3

Catchy. I like 3Oh!3.

Like It's Her Birthday - Good Charlotte

Shakin' My Head - Detail ft Flo-Rida

Another club song.

Down On Me - Jeremih ft 50 Cent

Nice collab. Works.

Flashback - Calvin Harris

This is old. But i just got it. So if you don't already have it, get it. It's good.

What If I Kissed You - Drake

This is not on the album. Drake's singing. Not bad.

One Your Name - Swedish House Mafia ft Pharrell

Arshad featured One on his first post. This is a vocal mix with Mr. Pharrell Williams. I assume you'll know him. If you don't, thats a shame. Hit Google.

Bollywood ishtyle house. Well actually more classical Indian than commercial Bollywood.

Ne-Yo Doesn't Mind A Beautiful Monster. Rawr. =/

Hello!
I think our posts have been much more consistent after getting done with exams and physical healing (Lol). We have considerably more time on our hands now. Actually, I think I have the most. College has begun for P and Arshad has started working. I, the former bad ass round the clock working/studying/teaching psycho am FREE. Ehn. The freedom is terribly boring now. So, I must get myself a job too. Anywho, I've been browsing and liking a lot of new stuff lately.

1. California Gurls - Katy Perry ft Snoop Dogg
I see myself singing this at a karaoke.

2. Voices In My Head - Bruno Mars
I am a HUGE Bruno Mars fan. I think his music never disappoints.

3. Single - J.Valetine ft Letoya Luckett
Really chilled out track. (Add to sex playlist =P). This song however, sounded like I have heard it before? Anyhow, get!

4. Gimme That - Ciara
She has indeed been gone for too long. While her recent stuff hasn't been hitting as hard as her "1,2 Step" days; this isn't a homerun, it's pretty good =].

5. Touch - Natasha Bedingfield
Again, I think she's an amazing singer.

6. I'm In Love With You - Timbaland ft Tyson Ritter from The All-American Rejects
A VERY unexpected collabo. Surprisingly nice =]

7. Dj Got Us Falling In Love - Usher ft Pitbull
I think the divorce did Usher GOOD.

8. 2012 - Jay Sean
He never fails. You know it.

9. Rhythm Of Love - Plain White Ts
There's just something about their music that I LOVE. Also, the lyrics =].

10. Just The Way You Are - Bruno Mars
Another one by him =]. Jeez, the lyrics make me all tingly.

11. Erase Me - KiD CuDi ft Kanye West
You know what? When I saw the collabo and THEN heard the song, it sounded SO different than what I'd have imagined the song to be like. It's pretty neat! =]. Unexpected!

12. Heartbeat - Enrique Iglesias ft Nicole Scherzinger
I REALLY like this song. Even though Nicole Scherzinger is pretty much done. This one works!

13. Club Can't Handle Me - Flo Rida ft David Guetta
Does Flo Rida EVER bomb? ALL his tracks are SO bloody sick! This is a current favourite. VERY HOT!

14. Garden - Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
Haha. I know the artist name is hilarious! But I really took a liking to the track.

15. Deuces - Chris Brown & Tyga ft Kevin McCall
Cee breeezay ♥

16. 143 - Bobby Brackins ft Ray-J.
143. A la-la-la love.

17. No Love - Eminem ft Lil Wayne
We already told you to get the album. Another awesome one off of it.

18. Hold Yuh - Gyptian
Aaaaa laike!

19. Magic - B.o.B ft Rivers Cuomo
B.o.B - another fella who be scoring, and be scoring hard.

20. Beautiful Monster - Ne-Yo
We can't leave him out now, can we?

That's all for now, mes amis.
P.S - Did you know that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are getting married? =O. I didn't even know she was pregnant.
Until, we meet again.

Get High. Alors On Danse..

Sup?
It's been a while. As Miz mentioned, 'postmodem' depression. Lol. Anyhow, down to business. So you'll would've noticed our latest addition to the frat, Arshad aka Ice. He's the electronut. So for those of yall who wanted more of that genre, well have no fear, Ice is here.

Miz and I will be continuing the regular stuff. Bangers and all. So now to get down to my list. After fracturing my shoulder, I wasn't doing much downloading and all. So there's alot of good stuff from that time that I've prolly just got and you already have. It's still making the list. So yeah, here goes...

Eminem's album Recovery -
If you don't have this yet, wake up. It's about time.

Alors On Danse - Stromae
So this guy's a Belgian-Rwandan hip-hop and electronic artist. This song's quite the banger. A lot of our European readers will prolly be familiar with it. Loosely translated, 'Alors on danse' means 'Then we dance'. Quite apt I say.

Ghost In The Machine - B.o.B.
Melancholy song. Pretty good tho.

Spaceship - Benny Benassi ft Kelis, Apl & Jean-Baptiste
Benassi's first collab of this sort and it's pretty sick.

Like This - Duncan Daniels ft M.I.
Ok, so I can't remember if I've put this up already. I really do enjoy this song. Nigeria represented.

Power - Kanye West ft Dwele
Give it a listen.

Dirty Dancer - Enrique Iglesias ft Usher
You'd expect this collab to work. It does.

Keg Stand - Pries
Drunk song. :P. Sample line. "Cuz of that kegstand, I can't feel my face man." Lol.

Pump It Up - Pitbull ft Dominic
I like the drums.

Dj Got Us Fallin' In Love Again - Usher ft Pitbull
Another club hit by Usher

Sexting - Ludacris
Haha. Omg. Lol. Smiley faces. X and Os. Lmfao.

On to the electro scene.. Got quite a bit of stuff here..

We No Speak Americano (Original Mix) and (Hard Electro Mix) - Yolanda Be Cool & DCup
Both mixes equally good. Party pumper for sure.

Come Home (Original Mix) - Alpha 9
Insane prog.

Bliss (Original Mix) and (Club Mix) - Alpha 9
Both insane again. The club mix is naturally faster.

Hot Girl - R.I.O.
I got the extended version. Deffo would work in a club.

Aisha (Original Mix) - Gaia
Very nice prog.

Deep Down (Original Mix) - Josh Gabriel pres Winter Kills
Very nice vocals. And overall, a great track.

Full Focus (Original Mix) - Armin Van Buuren
First single of his new album Mirage due to drop in September.

Lovers Lane (The Blizzard Remix) - Orjan Nilsen
Another really nice track. Featured on Asot.

Without You (Extended Mix) - Aly & Fila vs Philippe El Sisi ft Senadee
Great track.

The next two tracks should not be heard if your parents are around. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Hey Baby (Original Mix) - Deadmau5 & Melleefresh

Bitch (Peitsche Mix) - Finger and Kadel

Oh and yeah the World Cup just over. Congratulations Spain. There were a whole bunch of good songs for the WC. Top three for me were-

Waka waka - Shakira
Oh Africa - Akon ft Keri Hilson
Wavin' Flag - K'naan

Pretty much everyone should have 'em by now. But hey, you never know.

Peace

The torturous wait for my results has made me desperate for some good tunes. So, I decided to take a break from my new job and get down to downloading. It's been so long since I have! Anywho, here are some that have caught my eye (ear in this case). Also, P is sort of going through "postmodem depression". His laptop is still not with him. Empathies.

A nice track for the road.

5.Feel It In My Bones - Tiesto ft Tegan and Sara

..Welcome to the ŤŘĬP! (トリプ)

So Allow me to introduce myself im Arshad the latest addition to this ever so popular blog and im gna be posting music from some of the other genre's mainly electro, trance, psy, psytrance, house and the like. Im trying to spread love for these genre's which have deep melody and balance with the use of musical effects produced from physical and virtual instruments, now while some argue that this is not pure music as it is not completely produced from the regular physical instruments however the sounds produced are unique and thats the original concept of how music began isnt it?.. from us humans liking unique sounds produced by the world around us. This is the same , this kind of music requires a certain amount of patience on the part of the listener to analyze the various layers of sound that come together to form one unique experience that takes you to a higher level with influences from all genres ranging from jazz, rock, country, pop,hip-hop and mainly classical.
So go ahead try it, give it a chance ,trust me you'll be very impressed.

So some Psy Trance/Trance
Paranormal attack - Be with you
If uve never heard psy before u might get a little scared of them but man are they good!

Paranormal attack - Yakuza
Yakuza is the japanese word for Mafia.

Skazi - Out of space
Beautiful Symphonic Psy, Skazi incorporates guitar riffs in his music and takes it to a new level.

Skazi- My Msn
This isn actually as Hard hitting as psy generally is but trance made from msn messenger sounds!?..u have to check it out! awesome!

Astrix vs John 00 Fleming - 3rd Time Lucky
John 00 Fleming need i say more? (Yes he DID play at sunburn 09 if u wer wondering).
One of his Masterpieces.

Now we come to the softer EDM variants or as the guys at anjunabeats(A&B) like to call it Uplifting Electronica and honestly i cant find a better description. So line up these tracks in a playlist get yourself to a beach if u can(but hey the music is what matters not the place so don worry about it) with some good headphones and ur ipod let ur mind go loose and let the music take u on a journey to anywhere u wana go. It truly is musical bliss.

[*asterisk's stand for the degree of how recent the tracks are

Insanely Catchy Beats and Tunes this track is one of those that gets stuck in your head and has you humming it all day long....i have a feeling it might turn out to be a future classic.

Planet Funk - Chase the Sun
The Original...Weve all heard it and we all love it but these remixes below all add a different dimension to this classic remixed in their signature style by the artists i recommend getting all of them cuz their all so brilliant. And leave a comment below..let me know which one you thought was the best.

Graaaa-jooooo-ayyyy-shunnnnn!

P got himself broken and I had my finals that made sure I was far far away from this place. Anywho, I am finally a graduate! *runs around in circles with arms in the air*. P will soon get his plaster off and life will be good again!
Sadly insomnia hasn't left my side. While sleep is my bestest friend, it seems to be mighty pissed off at me. So, I decided I shall make my sleepless night productive by posting. Long overdue.

1. Salinas (Tim Berg Remix) - Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
I adore this track. Thank yous to Arshad for this one. More on him later. But get this one! Good speakers will slay you.

2. Ain't No Doubt About It - The Game ft Pharrell and Justin Timberlake
Ok, so this isn't a WOW. I mean you'd expect fire with the line up. But, its a chilled out track. If you enjoy dancing to typical JT music, you'll love it.

3. Take It (Satisfaction) - Quincy Jagher
So, since I just discovered him few months back, I think he delivers bangers. This is an interesting spin on Satisfaction. Me likey.

4. Not Lost - B.o.B ft T.I
I love the lyrics. They mean a lot.

5. Gravity - Sara Bareilles
Chills. Lyrics. The way you can mould what they mean blew me away.

6. Insomnia - Lumidee ft DJ Scotty
Shes been under the radar after "Uh-oh". I'm not a very big Lumidee fan, but theres something about this I like. Will work in the clubs fo shiz.

7. Breaking Up (Bewafa)(Remix) - DJ Suruj ft Da Poe, Truth & Imran Khan
I'm a sucker for desi mixes and I love Imran Khan. Get.

8.Groove On The Dancefloor - The Bilz & Kashif
Yeah I definitely see myself dancing to this one =P

9. Girlfriend - Rock City
Rock City is another under-rated duo with some really good stuff. Go get your girl love-struck romeos! Steal her if you have to! =P

10. Survival Of The Fittest - Maino ft August
You gotta be a hustler to survive. True story.

11. Violento (Up Mix) - Bailongo!
Ok, this, according to me is awesome! I drove a lot of people mad cause it isn't available for download unless you purchase it. I finally did get it thanks to David! =D. So yes, try getting this especially if you love to tango!

12. Oh What A Night - Lil Jon ft Jay Sean & Claude Kelly.
Yeah this would not have been missing anything if Lil Jon wasn't on it. Jay Sean and Claude Kelly kill it. *Thumbs up*

13. Naturally - Selena Gomez ft The Scene
Yes, yes...this is the Selena Gomez from "Wizards Of Waverly Place" =P. But, you know what? I really didn't think she could sing till I heard this. I think this is AWESOME for just her first single. Its freaking catchy man! I love it. Shes one of my Justin Bieber people now. You may go all eye brow raisin' on me, but I don't really care =P

14. Airplanes Part 2 - B.o.B ft Eminem and Hayley Williams
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. B.o.B is just KILLING it. Love this. I pretend airplanes are shooting stars all the time =]

15. 3 Words - Cheryl Cole ft Will.I.Am
An unexpected collabo that works.

16. Alice - Avril Lavigne
Lol. I know this is mucho old but I was just super excited to hear a single from the punk princess. =]

17. Telephone - Lady GaGa ft Beyonce
Epic video.

18. Let U Go - DJ Derezon ft Jason Caesar, Caramel and Natasha
Again, I don't know if this is available for download. TRY though. Sick track.

19. 21 Guns - Green Day ft The Cast Of American Idiot
So you probably have heard that 'American Idiot' is being made into a musical on Broadway. This version features the cast and it kicks major booty. J'ADORE!!!!!!!!!!!

20. Whataya Want From Me - Adam Lambert
The Idol screamer is back! Man, he looks yummeh in the video. He makes kohl and black nailpolish look so damn hot.

Thats all for now. We're gonna soon welcome a new member that will post mainly house and electronica. He manages to score some pretty sick tracks which both P and I have included in our posts.
The next post is all yours Arshad!

Peace.

Starry Eyed/Fractured

Sup?

It's approaching that time of the year again.. Exams! Shit I'm so fed up with them I can't even crack a joke on 'em. Meh!! So yeah, Mich has hers the next couple of week.. Me over the next couple of months.. Yeah it's a long painful drawn out process.

Moving on.. so this time, I'm going to start with the electro first. Owing to the INSANE tracks I have come across and am currently tripping to..

Starry Eyed (Jakwob Remix) - Ellie Goulding
Sickest.Track.Ever. Or at least one of them. Be sure to get this. The original's also pretty good. But this remix just kills all. Got me going mental riding on the bike. ((d|o_O|b))

The Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix) - Morgan Page ft Lissie
Another brilliant track. This was actually nominated for a Grammy (Grammy Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical).

Pacific - Oliver Smith
Very nice melody to it.. Gotta love it.

Unholy Grail (Original Mix) - Alex Kidd
Pretty cool track if you like the whole dramatic religious thing.. :). And then.. still cool.

Pay For Me (Original Mix) - Daniel Steinberg
The beats pretty good. But overall, this is a pretty sinister kind of track.

Campanera (Original Mix) - Danny Romero
Very carnival like track.

Funky Town (Original Mix) - Chic Flowerz
Remix of the 80's (was it 80's) classic.

Ok.. so I'm cutting this short owing to the fact that I managed to fracture a couple of bones in my shoulder and can't really type too well cuz my right arm's immobilized. Biking accident. On top of that, I don't have access to all my music cuz my laptop's developed a problem. Bummer!

So until Mich's done with exams and I've regained use of my right arm and have my laptop back, that's all folks!!

Peace
